A Prominent opposition politician, Mohyadin Mohamed Hagi Ibrahim who also served as Somalia’s defence minister between 2007 and 2008 was killed in a car bombing near KM4 in Mogadishu witnesses and officials told KNN on Monday.
A bomb which police believe ,was planted inside the victim’s car exploded killing him and wounded another person who was traveling in the same car at the time of the accident according to Abdulkadir Barnamij, the chairman of Kullan Party.
The killed victim was a member of the opposition Party Kullan. No group claimed the responsibility of today’s assassination. But police say al-shabaab group may be involved in the killing.
The late politician served as the country’s defence minister under former Somalia’s Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein Nur Adde between 2007 and 2008.
